Genital Herpes Infection Causes a Feeling of Shame and Isolation; CBCD Analyzes the Stigma of Genital Herpes

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) August 21, 2014

“Infected with the genital herpes virus (HSV-2)? The CBCD recommends taking Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD

Genital herpes infection, usually caused by the HSV-2 virus, has a social stigma attached to it. “HIV/AIDS is stigmatized, but few laugh at people who have it because it’s a serious illness. HPV can lead to cancer, on occasion, and women get tested regularly for it, making it no joke to most. Chlamydia, syphilis, crabs, scabies, and gonorrhea are sometimes the target of jokes, but these STDS are typically curable, so people won’t have to endure the annoyance for too long. Genital herpes, though, isn’t curable, is thought of as a disease only the promiscuous and cheating-types get, and is a popular joke topic.” (1)

In fact, Eric Sabo wrote in the New York Times that HSV-2 is the “largest epidemic no one wants to talk about.” (See the New York Times, from May 26, 2010) (2)

For some, the physical symptoms lead to extreme mental anguish. “Insecurity, discouragement, rejection, tears, anger, counseling, suicidal tendencies, humiliation, shame, and isolation is caused by the stigma of a skin condition (genital herpes) that usually doesn’t show up most or even all of the year and can be contracted after having protected sex one time.” (1) The CBCD therefore recommends that infected individuals take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR, two natural antivirals, that were shown in two separate post-marketing clinical studies to reduce HSV-2 symptoms.

The formula of Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the herpes simplex virus, and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the HSV … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (3) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (3)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites.

Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

Dr. Anna Wald said that “Herpes has a stigma attached to it that even HIV doesn’t have anymore. It’s very rare to get people to talk about it as openly.” (2) Dr. Wald is a virologist at the University of Washington.

A study by Dr. Wald found that being open about a genital herpes diagnosis helps remove some mental fears, at least for a time. “Out of 200 people with herpes, those who revealed their diagnosis were able to keep partners free of the disease for about nine months on average, compared to the two months it took when left secret. Couples who share this information often agree to use condoms, hold off on sex during flare-ups, and avoid skin-to-skin contact around the genital region, which all reduce the risk of transmitting herpes. Some may take prescription drugs that, in addition to relieving symptoms, block some of the viral shedding that causes infections.” (2)

Are prescription drugs the only treatment for a genital herpes infection?

“Drugs approved for the treatment of HSV-2 infections include penciclovir, acyclovir, famciclovir, and valaciclovir. However, their effectiveness is limited. For instance, a meta-analysis of five placebo-controlled and two dose comparison studies evaluated the effect of aciclovir, famciclovir or valaciclovir on symptoms. The meta-analysis showed that oral antiviral therapy decreases the duration and the associated pain of an outbreak by merely one day.” (3) There are also natural remedies that target the latent HSV. Two of these clinically backed remedies are Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR.

“Infection with HSV-2 is the source of physical herpes outbreaks. Physical symptoms lead to mental anguish, shame and isolation. The CBCD therefore recommends that infected individuals take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR to reduce HSV-2 symptoms.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD

Genital Herpes: When Can I Stop Taking Acyclovir? polyDNA Answers Survey Questions and Recommends Gene-Eden-VIR against the Latent HSV-2

Genital Herpes: When Can I Stop Taking Acyclovir? polyDNA Answers Survey Questions and Recommends Gene-Eden-VIR against the Latent HSV-2

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) January 27, 2014

People that take drugs against a genital herpes (HSV-2) infection for a long time, often wonder when they can stop. In its December 2013 survey, polyDNA learned that many individuals wanted to stop taking genital herpes medications such as Acyclovir, Famciclovir, and Valacyclovir. Some doctors allow their patients to stop taking anti-herpes medications after about 2 – 3 years without symptoms.

Dr. Charlotte Grayson, MD said, “Since the frequency of the recurrences decreases over time without suppressive therapy and the treatment is expensive, lifelong therapy is not usually recommended.” In addition, she added that “Once the infection is controlled, some physicians decrease the dose and often stop the drug altogether. Currently, many patients stop suppressive therapy after about two years of treatment.” (See HealthCentral.com, from March 14, 2007) (1).

The most commonly prescribed anti-herpes medication is Acyclovir. “It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. Acyclovir will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection.” (See Drugs.com on Acyclovir) (2).

While some doctors allow their patients to stop taking anti-herpes medications after a few years, the virus stays in the body in a latent state, and can potentially reactivate once medication is stopped. Therefore, polyDNA recommends that individuals take Gene-Eden-VIR while taking anti-herpes medications and after they stop. Gene-Eden-VIR will help their immune system target the latent herpes virus that resides in the body during the time they take the anti-herpes medication and continues to reside in the body after they stop.

In addition, polyDNA points out that, while effective, Acyclovir is considered expensive, and has a number of side effects, including “abdominal or stomach pain, decreased frequency of urination or amount of urine, increased thirst, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting (and) unusual tiredness or weakness (2).”

Gene-Eden-VIR was designed to be affordable over the long term, and was clinically proven to safely reduce symptoms of a genital herpes infection in a study that followed FDA guidelines.

After hearing some of these facts, survey respondent Barbara L. said, “I’ve been taking Acyclovir for 10 years. I haven’t had an outbreak for a majority of that time. Because of that, my doctor recently told me I could probably stop taking it. That actually makes me upset. I’ve spent a ton of money, and now I find out I could have saved?”

“Individuals must realize that if they stop taking their anti-herpes drugs, the herpes virus is still lurking in their system in a latent state. We recommend that these people take Gene-Eden-VIR, an effective, affordable herpes remedy that was proven to reduce herpes symptoms in a post-marketing clinical study.” – Mike Evans, polyDNA

In a post marketing clinical study published on August 12, 2013 in the medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs, researchers showed that Gene-Eden-VIR is safe and effective (3). Additionally, up to 70% of those studied reported a decrease in viral symptoms, and users experienced an increase in overall health (3).

Each ingredient of Gene-Eden-VIR was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals around the world to identify the safest, most effective natural ingredients that target the latent HSV-2.
