Environmental Lawyer Joins Holland & Hart’s Denver Office

Jill Van Noord has joined Holland & Hart as Of Counsel in the firm’s Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources practice group.

Van Noord represents clients in environmental litigation and regulatory compliance matters. She has experience working for various stakeholders in the natural resources arena, including industry, public interest advocacy groups, and the government, allowing her to bring valuable perspectives to counseling clients.

She has experience representing clients in state and federal court litigation involving claims under key federal and state environmental programs, including CERCLA, NEPA, and the Clean Air Act. She advises clients in mining and oil and gas industries on issues routinely affecting their business including contaminated property remediation, compliance audits, reporting, and enforcement actions.

Van Noord’s rulemaking experience includes representing stakeholders in the development of Colorado’s Regional Haze State Implementation Plan and preparing testimony and written comments at public hearings considering proposed emission standards. Through her current role as a member of the Mined Land Reclamation Board, she has first-hand experience with policy making and permit compliance and violations.
