Celebrating Herbal Prescription Interaction Awareness Month, Dr Sanjay Jain Provides Tips for Alternative Herbal Remedies and Better Health

Alternative medicine, using herbs and whole foods as a method of regaining and maintain health, is gaining popularity among people in a culture that’s been using chemical-laden prescription medications for decades. Many are taking a step back in time and embracing the benefits of the herbs that nature has so graciously provided.

“Mother Nature has given us some special plants that can be very helpful,” says Dr. Jain in his book Optimal Living 360: Smart Decision Making for a Balanced Life. “Aspirin comes from willow bark; taxol, a cancer drug, comes from the Pacific yew tree; and digitalis, a cardiac drug, is from the foxglove plant family.” He also notes that more than 7,000 compounds used in pharmaceuticals come from plants. On their own, most of the items from nature’s pharmacy provide helpful benefits, but without the negative side effect of modern medicine.

Herbals to Consider Using

Upon consultation with a medical professional, consider using these three, readily available herbals in daily life:

Aloe- This common house plant can be used topically on injured parts of the body to promote healing and reduce inflammation and pain. It’s best used in it’s most natural state; break off a piece, open it up and apply to the skin for fast relief.

Garlic- Don’t underestimate the power of garlic, or be put off by its potent smell. Their tiny bulbs pack a punch when it comes to nutrition, and is anecdotally said to lower levels of LDL cholesterol. Don’t be afraid to use garlic liberally; chop up several cloves to add to tomato-based sauces or stir-fries. For a quick dish that whips up easily, dice four medium size tomatoes, drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and top with a sea salt, chopped garlic, fresh basil and oregano to taste.

Green Tea- Known for it’s high levels of antioxidants, green tea is refreshing all year round. The plant sterols in the tea aid in reducing the risk of heart disease.

Before tossing prescription medicines out and buying a basket full of herbal supplements consider these tips from Dr. Jain:

Always check with a physician before consuming supplements. Both doctors advocating alternative medicine and those conventionally trained will be able to give advice on which supplements are harmful in combination with medications or existing health conditions.

Buy quality supplements. When it comes to health, money should never be the deciding factor. Choose a product that has a good reputation and comes from a manufacturer who guarantees standardized doses. If money is an issue, choose one high-quality item over multiple low-quality ones.

Choose single ingredient supplements. Multi-vitamins and herbal formulas boast many benefits, but whenever possible, choose supplements that contain just one herb rather than a whole array.

Buy dried herbs in small batches. Fresh herbs are always superior to dried, since the beneficial components deteriorate over time. For those who must buy dried herbs for teas and soups, buy small batches and smell them to make sure they’re still fragrant.

Using herbals as part of daily life and for medicinal purposes is a great way to stay healthy, courtesy of Mother Nature. As always, check with a medical professional before taking any supplements.

Is a Dietary Supplement with More Ingredients Better?; polyDNA Answers Survey Question and Recommends Novirin, a Dietary Supplement with Just Five Ingredients

Is a Dietary Supplement with More Ingredients Better?; polyDNA Answers Survey Question and Recommends Novirin, a Dietary Supplement with Just Five Ingredients

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) April 27, 2014

polyDNA’s latest survey discovered that 74% of respondents wondered if dietary supplements with many ingredients were “better” than those with just a few. Some companies claim that more ingredients make dietary supplements more effective. However, the FDA notes that part of the safe use of dietary supplements is ensuring that natural products do not have “too much or too little of a dietary ingredient.” (See the FDA, last updated December 7, 2013) (1). In addition, “Manufacturers are responsible for substantiating the safety of dietary ingredients and also for determining that certain structure/function and other claims they make about their products are substantiated by adequate evidence to show that the claims are truthful and not misleading (1).” Novirin was designed with exactly the right number of ingredients at the right doses to target latent viruses in infected individuals. Customers of polyDNA can trust this claim because a post marketing clinical study showed that, as predicted, individuals infected with HPV, EBV, HSV, HCMV, and HCV reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with the Novirin formula.

“Dietary supplements contain a variety of ingredients, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and herbs or other botanicals. Research has confirmed health benefits of some dietary supplements but not others.” (See the NIH, last updated March 2013) (2). Research confirms that Novirin is one of the dietary supplements with proven health benefits.

Novirin shares the same formula as Gene-Eden-VIR, which was shown to “safely and effectively decrease symptoms in individuals infected with the HPV, HSV, EBV, HCMV, and HCV.” (See Pharmacology & Pharmacy, from September 2013) (3).

The difference between the two products is that Novirin has higher quality, more expensive ingredients. The Novirin/Gene-Eden-VIR formula was tested in two post-marketing clinical studies published in September 2013 and March 2014, respectively, in the peer reviewed medical journal Pharmacy & Pharmacology (3).

Interested individuals can view the two published studies here, http://cbcd.net/Gene-Eden-VIR-Clinical-Study.php and http://cbcd.net/Gene-Eden-VIR-Decreases-Fatigue-Clinical-Study.php.

“We urge the public to have the highest trust in dietary supplements, like Novirin, that were tested directly in a clinical study and were proven safe and effective.” – Mike Evans, polyDNA

Each ingredient of Novirin was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals around the world to identify the highest quality, safest, most effective natural ingredients that target latent viruses.

A second clinical study showed that the Novirin/Gene-Eden-VIR formula decreased physical and mental fatigue. (See Pharmacology & Pharmacy, from March, 2014) (4).

polyDNA is a biotechnology company that develops dietary supplements using the unique scientific method developed by Dr. Hanan Polansky, which is based on Computer Intuition.

In addition to his unique scientific method, Dr. Polansky published the highly acclaimed scientific discovery, called Microcompetition with Foreign DNA. The discovery explains how foreign DNA fragments, and specifically, DNA of latent viruses, cause most major diseases.

polyDNA developed Novirin, an antiviral natural remedy that helps the immune system kill latent viruses.
