Latest research has found that eating fish not only increases brain size but also protects against developing Alzheimer’s disease reports Daily Mail on 27th January 2014. The results of the scans identified that those with twice as high levels of fatty acids had a larger brain volume by up to two inches.

According to Dr Pottala, “Our study suggests that a higher tissue reserve of omega-3 fatty acids may slow the loss of cognitive function that can accompany brain atrophy.” From the findings, it supports the fish oil supplements as Omega-3 fats contribute to several health benefits, such as reducing heart attacks, blood clots, dangerous heart rhythms and inflammation of the brain.
